Emphasis on Tourism, Radio and preservation as Jamboree welcomes
Tom Miller to board of directors.

In radio for over 32 years, Tom Miller served 26 years in the unique position as Program Director at AM 1170 WWVA in Wheeling. For 20 years he was in rotation as staff announcer of the weekly Saturday Jamboree shows and Jamboree in the Hills. Prior to his time at WWVA, he served at KQV Radio in Pittsburgh and is widely recognized as the
“Voice” of Oglebay resort.  Glen Dale, WV native Brad Paisley fondly recalls in his new book “Diary of a Player” how he was personally invited by Tom Miller to make his very first appearance on the weekly Jamboree show and that brought Paisley to then become a regular member of the Jamboree staff band. Presently a Banking Center Manager for Wesbanco, Tom Miller brings a wide scope of expertise surrounding The Wheeling Jamboree family and its goals to bring a high level of blended country music entertainment, to generate tourism and the ongoing preservation of the Country Music Institution that is so widely recognized as a part of West Virginia and the northeast region of the USA and parts of Canada.  One of the first projects Mr. Miller will be involved in is the return of the Jamboree “Star-Quest” Talent competition that was produced as a part of the Jamboree show packages and where he served as a judge. The long running Star-Quest event is a predecessor to the high profile talent shows of today.

At the annual board meeting in April Wheeling Jamboree, Inc. welcomed Keith Bilbrey of Nashville, Tennessee.
Bilbrey, a widely recognized TV & Radio Personality, hosting numerous Country Music Productions over his career served as Announcer of the Grand Ole Opry broadcast on WSM AM 650 for 34 years. Keith Bilbrey is now with Gabriel Communications and will appear on TNN (The Nashville Network) when it returns to cable later this summer. He also is the host of “Larry’s Country Diner” on the RFD-TV network.

Attorney Jason Grubb of Raleigh county WV was also elected to the Jamboree board and is entertainment legal counsel in West Virginia and Tennessee representing a variety of Country Music Entertainers as well as artist management.
